Hi, my name is Krista Geier. I teach art at Grand Avenue and Tower Rock Elementary Schools. I started teaching in 2005 and in the Sauk Prairie School District in 2008. I grew up in the Cross Plains area and attended Wisconsin Heights High School. After high school I graduated from UW Stevens Point with a BFA in Graphic Design and then acquired an Art Education Teaching Certificate from UW Whitewater. Currently, I am working towards and Masters in Experiential Education.
I am thrilled to be teaching in the Sauk Prairie School District, it is wonderful to be back in the area where I grew up! My husband and I live in the Middleton area and enjoy spending time outdoors, hiking, biking, riding horses, cooking and cheering on all the Wisconsin sport teams. The art mediums I enjoy are painting, photography, and experimenting with new techniques.
As an art educator I hope to instill in students an appreciation for art, the process that artists use to create work, and a greater understanding of themselves and the world around them.
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”
